本规范适用于城市道路、桥涵、隧道、室外管道、给排水厂站、堤岸等建设项目的岩土工程勘察。 本规范的主要技术内容是：1.总则；2.术语；3.基本规定；4.勘察阶段的划分与基本工作内容；5.城市道路工程；6.城市桥涵工程；7.城市隧道工程；8.城市室外管道工程；9.城市给排水厂站工程；10.城市堤岸工程；11.报告编制基本规定。 修订的主要内容是：1.确定市政工程勘察阶段划分、工作深度要求；2.确定市政工程勘察等级划分标准；3.确定市政工程勘察工作内容、工作量和工作精度；4.确定市政工程勘察成果要求；5.补充城市隧道及给排水厂站工程勘察内容。本规范中以黑体字标志的条文为强制性条文，必须严格执行
