本标准规定了煤(亦称煤炭)的地质勘查基本原则，目的任务及勘查阶段，勘查工作程度，勘查工作要求，可行性评价，资源储量估算，煤层气和其他有益矿产勘查，原始资料编录、综合研究和报告编制等。本标准适用于煤的地质勘查工作及其成果评价
