本标准规定了铀矿开采、矿石加工及科研实验等方面的辐射防护设计的要求。 本标准适用于铀矿开采、矿石加工及科研实验的辐射防护设计；也适用于这些方面的中外合资项目的设计。对于含有铀钍元素共生矿的开采、加工等方面的辐射防护设计要求，亦应参照本标准中的有关规定
